My First Thoughts

You never know what path life will take you down. When you’re pregnant, you never dream that your child will be anything but perfect.

In 2005 we had a car accident. I still don’t know if that was the catalyst or not, but my daughter’s chronic issues started shortly after.

There are support groups out there for many named diseases, but not a lot for parents of children that have chronic undiagnosed pain and illness. I live in a small town and didn’t have unlimited resources. It took 12 years to even find out what my daughter had.

It is my hope that this blog can help support others.

I cannot give expert advice. I can only tell you about our journey. I can tell you the things I thought I did right and the many things I did wrong. I can tell you the things I did to help cope during the last 15 years and hopefully be a shoulder to lean on.

Maybe together we can weather the storms. Some days are good and some not so much, but if you’re reading this, chances are this is your life too. I hope I can make it brighter.
